Case Study | Residential Property | Barrel Roof

A combination of technical skill and design innovation helped create a stand-out feature for this bespoke luxury property located in Marylebone, London.

Specialised teams with expertise in architecture, structural engineering, pre-fabrication, and installation ensured both functionality and aesthetic excellence.

As the appointed off-site manufacturer, Setanta Construction created the large barrel roof build components which involved pre-fabricating trusses, ribs, and panels using advance cutting tools and machinery for precision and accuracy; as well as integrating high-performance elements in the design and construction process to help with the overall thermal efficiency of the building.

Given the components for a barrel roof are large and unwieldy, detailed logistics and transportation planning was crucial. Once the barrel roof components arrived on site, assembly and installation was completed quickly by a skilled team of contractors which resulted in less disruption to the property and the surrounding area.

A final inspection of the completed barrel roof was conducted to ensure that the finished product met the exact standards expected for the project, which included checking for airtightness, water resistance and structural integrity.

Our specialised off-site approach played a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless on-site assembly and included rigorous quality control, careful planning, precise manufacturing and effective communication between all parties involved.
