Case Study | Luxury Hotel Four Floor Roof Extension
Setanta Construction was tasked to manufacture the primary roof components of the four-floor luxury roof extension at Claridge's Hotel, Mayfair London.
A delicate balance between using cutting-edge construction techniques and honoring the building’s historic integrity, our specialised off-site approach was the perfect solution for such a complex and high-profile project.
80 large dormer windows with balcony's attached were expertly manufactured at our factory in Mid Ulster, before being carefully transported and meticulously installed on-site as a complete unit.
By manufacturing the primary roof components off-site, we were able to ensure high precision in each modular unit, vital in maintaining the Victorian façade’s elegance. With its rich heritage, every detail, no matter how small, needed to be handled with the utmost care and respect. Our off-site construction solution helped minimise the risks of damage or inaccuracies while also preserving the hotel's iconic look and feel.
The speed of offsite construction also played a huge role and it was crucial to keep disruption to a minimum - not only to preserve the building itself but also to avoid causing any inconvenience to the hotel's operations or its guests.
By building the major components off-site, we significantly reduced the time spent on-site, allowing for faster installation and less interference with the existing structure.
We estimate that carrying out the work off-site, Setanta Construction saved over 12 months to the program of works.
